The user’s requests were to make a specific and rare mailbox for which we had no additional information, i.e. a few pictures and a desired height. It is a mailbox from the time of Edward VIII – 1936. when a small number of such mailboxes were made. It is believed that there are only four surviving examples of an Edward VIII Ludlow type letter box.
02. The Solution
Using Fusion360 software, our experienced team modeled this type of mailbox from just a few images in record time. We organized the 3D printing process in several parts, using PETG material on one of the largest 3D printers in the region “Modix 120X” with a nozzle size of 1mm. The last step is the post-processing which, apart from getting a smooth surface, we also protected the self-opt model because it was intended for outdoor use.
03. The Result
The result is a realistically branded 1936 “Edward VIII” letterbox in real size (168cm x 68cm) with a functional door. The user uses this model as a fun communication tool with their employees and customers.
